Professional Freight Broker, Denver CO

Fast growing transportation company is looking for a professional freight broker sales/agent in Denver, CO. We require previous experience, knowledge of the market and brokerage procedures and regulations. In an effort to balance the needs of customer service levels with optimal transportation availability, the primary function of this position is to identify and ensure that equipment and drivers are utilized to maximum efficiency so that deliveries are on time and in compliance with government regulations, company standards and customer expectations.


Basic Job Description:


- Carrier development

- Post loads and secure coverage for offered loads

- Contact other brokers to book loads from load broads.

- Negotiate rates for both offered and book loads

- Work closely with operations team for identify brokerage needs

- Track booked and offered loads, be in contact with carriers and brokers.

- Maintain approved carriers database.

- Ensure compliance with DOT regulations.

- Troubleshooting and resolving transportation and logistics problems

- Communication with the drivers, dispatching and planning their trips


Minimum Qualifications:


Ability to perform in a fast-paced environment with rapidly changing priorities

High degree of initiative and independent execution

Ability to evaluate alternative in order to make the best overall decision based on KIP metrics, service requirements, seasonal factors, customer relations, and driver needs.

Some knowledge of time/distance geography preferred

Integrity and dependability

Independent proficiency in Microsoft Excel required

Ability to handle high volumes of inbound email


Other Requirements:


Bachelor's degree preferred

Experience in customer service or logistics management preferred

Experience in Transportation Management System Aljex Software preferred not required

Excellent communication and problems solving skills

Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment

Job Type: Full-time

Basic Education and Common sense required.

Hands/ real time experience preferred.
